Corporate Physiotherapy

Since our formation in 1994 we have been providing bespoke on and off site corporate physiotherapy services to local and national companies throughout Cardiff, the South Wales Valleys and nationwide. Our corporate physiotherapy clients have included Unilever, Corus, South Wales Disability Services, South West Disability Services and G4S. We were instramental in setting up a bespoke physiotherapy and rehabilitation service within HMP Parc Prison. Developing this service from a two hour out-patient clinic once every two weeks to a full weekly service including out-patient treatment clinics, gym based rehabilitation sessions and cardiac rehabilitation for the older inmate. These on-site services greatly offset the costs to the prison service in man hours and expense in taking inmates to outside hospitals and clinics for their treatment.

Onsite corporate physiotherapy provides a very practical benefit for staff and employer alike. It saves not only the patient’s precious time but also the Company’s time and money and creates a caring and positive Company culture. Our occupational health physiotherapists are able to provide a range of OH Musculoskeletal and absentee management services including ergonomic workplace assessments, functional capacity evaluations or onsite occupational health physiotherapy.

As treatment is very accessible employees can be seen quickly which helps to resolve injuries/pain quickly and therefore less time away from the workplace maintaining/increasing productivity therebye increasing profitability. Our

Providing physiotherapy treatment at the workplace helps us to gain a greater understanding of the work environment and the demands placed on the employee. This helps us to tailor the treatment and rehabilitation to the employee’s needs and time constraints.

In addition to onsite Physiotherapy clinics we have been undertaking ergonomic and workstation assessments since our inception. We also provide workshops to assist your HR department in complying with health and safety legislation. Please contact us with your specific requirements and we will tailor our services to your company needs.

The size of the problem

Sickness absence costs the UK around £15 billion annually in lost economic output.

An estimated 137.3 million working days were lost due to sickness or injury in the UK in 2016. This is equivalent to 4.3 days per worker

.Minor illnesses (such as coughs and colds) were the most common reason for sickness absence in 2016, accounting for approximately 34.0 million days lost (24.8% of the total days lost). This was followed by musculoskeletal problems (including back pain, neck and upper limb problems) at 30.8 million days

£13 billion is spent on health related state benefits.

In the NHS almost 40% of staff sickness absence is due to musculoskeletal conditions, e.g. back pain.

5% of sickness absence becomes long term, lasts over four weeks and accounts for almost half of the total working days lost each year.

There is an 80% chance that if absent for six months an individual will be out of work for five years.
